About World Cup 2026 squads

Every nation competing at FIFA World Cup 2026 must submit a 26-man squad to FIFA. National federations announced their final rosters between mid-May and June 1, 2026, following preliminary lists released earlier in May. The deadline for final squad submission was set at June 1; managers can replace injured players up to 24 hours before their team's opening match.

Each squad must include at least three goalkeepers. Beyond that, managers have full discretion over how they balance defenders, midfielders, and forwards. The expanded 26-man limit (up from 23 at previous tournaments) was introduced for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar and retained for 2026, partly to absorb the heavier load of a longer tournament with 104 matches across 16 host cities.

Squads on this page are sourced from official national federation announcements and cross-referenced against Sky Sports, ESPN, and individual federation press releases. Player clubs reflect the most recent transfer status at the time of squad announcement.
