How does qualification from groups work?
For the first time, 32 of the 48 teams advance to the knockout stage. The top two finishers from every group automatically progress. A new Round of 32 stage has been added: the 24 group winners and runners-up are joined by the eight best third-placed teams, ranked by points โ goal difference โ goals scored โ fair play.
